What do I do when my phone number is flagged?

First, you identified the issue. Now what?

To clear your phone number and prevent it from showing such results as "Scam/Spam Likely" in the future, you must first check your dial strategy. How often do you call out on one phone number? Do you perform cold calls on any numbers? Are you performing any sort of telemarketing?

Please note that the FTC is the only platform unavailable for remediation. Flags for the FTC are kept for historical reasons. If the violation date is over two weeks old, then this flag can be considered "void".

Many of those who ask how to fix flags dial out more than 100 times an hour on one number. You can either choose to alternate between numbers in your pool (such as after 50 dials on this number in 1 hour, you switch to the next number and stop using the previous one), switch your number out with your carrier, or stop calling on that number outbound for a few days. We recommend a maximum threshold of 100 outbound dials per 1 phone number per day.

We also have many remediation tools, located in the sidebar of your dashboard. "Carrier & App Remediation" has many links for each carrier and data provider to assist with removing any flags against your numbers. These are not for sure fixes as providers must ensure these numbers are not owned by bad actors, but they may reach out if they need more information or will provide you with updates to your remediation.

Note: For Robokiller, you will need to verify that your phone number has a status of Blocked. If not, your remediation request won't work because Robokiller is not actively blocking your phone number.

The following is a good example of a number that should be remediated (this can be found by going to the details page of the phone number)

The following is a bad example and a remediation request should NOT be sent.

A negative User Reputation on a phone number will NOT define or show when you call outbound. Only when the block status is changed will this affect your calls. Robokiller does not show the status of the phone number like the carriers do.

Another alternative is using this phone number for "inbound only" usage for up to two weeks. In some cases, this can assist with having flags come off that may be stubborn, even after remediation.

We only recommend switching your numbers out as a last resort if remediation can no longer be performed and your flags are not coming off.
