How do we protect your data?

While Caller ID Reputation might be a monitoring service, protection of your data is not an omission. We take great care to secure our systems against unauthorized access, and comply with provisions such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

Caller ID Reputation staff do not have access to sensitive data such as passwords & credit card numbers. Credit card numbers are not stored in our systems and are only processed by our payment provider. Passwords are stored securely using an industry-standard hashing and salting algorithm, which cannot be reversed back into clear text. Internally we also use safeguards such as multi-factor authentication and audit logging to make sure that staff account access is limited to the person authorized. In transit, your data is secured with HTTPS/TLS, ensuring no data can be seen by a person on your network.

It is policy to not allow an administrative password reset without verifying the identity of the client, which is done via email and phone call to the contact on record. When an administrative password change is granted, the client on record will be emailed a temporary password and instructed to update their password. At no point is the temporary password stored in cleartext and is only sent in the email.

Requesting Account Deletion

Per data regulations, you have the right to request your data be erased from all of our systems. Deleting your Caller ID Reputation account is a permanent, irreversible process. Account deletions first require you to cancel your existing subscription, should you have any. Once you have no more active subscriptions, the "Request Deletion" button will be visible to you in Account Settings.

Once requested, we will promptly reach out asking for confirmation that you would like to delete your account. Upon confirmation we will execute the deletion process. Your data on all of our live infrastructure will be immediately erased, and from all others (backups/disaster recovery systems) automatically within 14-30 days. We cannot restore your account once it has been deleted from our live infrastructure, and if you are interested in using our services again you will have to sign up for a new account and go through our business verification process as if you were a new customer.
