An Insight on FTC Remediation

In this article, we explain why FTC Remediation is not possible at this current point in time

When you may be looking at your flags within your Dashboard as well as the Carrier & App Remediation forms, you may find yourself asking "How do I remediate with the FTC?", "What is the FTC?", or even "Where do I see why I was flagged by the FTC?"

Rest assured, we are here to assist at Caller ID Reputation.

The FTC is the Federal Trade Commission. This is a federal organization within the United States that monitors many phone numbers for violations on the TCPA. While they themselves do not block or tag calls, they are one of the many data points that other providers may use to monitor phone numbers for malicious calls.

Instead of Remediation, we recommend waiting two weeks on your "Violation Date" if possible.

If you do receive a new flag from the FTC on your phone number, don't ignore it either! This could be a sign that either this number within your pool is not in compliance with the TCPA and you should review your outbound dialing practices, or that your number may be spoofed.

Continue to monitor your numbers after receiving a flag from the FTC and if it continues, it may be a stronger sign that there is an issue with your outbound dialing practices.
